Mrs. Carlotta E. Ussher,
Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
My dear Mrs. Ussher;-
Enclosed I send you copy of the letter I received this morning from General Field. He evidently thinks that Mr. Woodruff does not care to discuss your affairs at a meeting of us all. If, however, Mr. Woodruff will write to him that he would like to meet General Field in the presence of you and myself, I think the matter can be consummated at once, and we will get some money out of it.
Sincerely yours,
L. H. Newkirk
