Hon. Timothy L. Woodruff,
43 West 39th St.,
New York, N.Y.
My dear Sir:
Excuse me for falling to answer one of your questions in your letter of the 22nd. My mind was so full of the information that you wished about the persons with whom you will have to deal as presiding officer, that I forgot to say anything in reply to your question as to dress. I shall wear a dress suit and believe that Messrs. Sague, Smith and McKenrick will appear in the same form.
I should also have suggested that instead of taking the 4:53 train you leave on the 4 o'clock. That train would bring you here at 6 o'clock and you could go to the Nelson House where I have provided for your entertainment and shall expect to meet you there unless I have different instructions. Of course, if you prefer to remain at large, I shall not anticipate seeing you until I get to the
Green Room at the Opera House, but will be very glad to have you take dinner at the Nelson House.
With best wishes, I remain,
Yours very truly,
C. C. Gaines
