Dear Sir:-
The delay in replying to your letter of the 11th inst. was due to Mr. Vanderbilt's absence from town.
Mr. Vanderbilt directed me to write you that he does not come to sell "Sagamore Lodge". He has, however, taken the liberty of referring your letter to a friend who owns a camp near "Sagamore Lodge" of which he might possibly be willing to dispose.
