Mrs. J. C. Griffin,
43 West 39th Street,
New York City,
My dear Mrs. Griffin:
Mrs. Ward handed me your letter of June 25th, also Mr. J. D. King's letter of the 7th, in reference to the cleaning of the monuments in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven, Conn. I wrote to my friend, Mr. William Moseley, at New Haven, and he is investigating the matter for me. He wrote he that the expert when he took to the cemetery did not think that the monuments required cleaning, but that the coping needed pointing up and that he would send me an estimate, which estimate has not reached me up to the present date. As you know, this is a very busy time in New Haven, and as Mr. Moseley is the proprietor of the New Haven House this may account for the delay.
Yours very truly,
Rodney A. Ward
