My dear Mrs Meleney,
My heart grows “ever nearer” to you- the nearer the time of the “happy event” draws. - To-day- I am all alone in my long “[sonit]” of two Apartments. I have settled at my small Writing Desk in my bed- room, which is the “ coziest” room of all. I am surrounded by pictures of my “ dear- ones” - and thus I am not so alone- as it might appear. I have been busy all day, with

Where “ due respect” and “ consideration” of the Sabbath- day. It rained -& I had to keep “ at home”. - Yesterday- we had a very interesting Meeting- with the reports of Anna Harvey, Mrs. Pashley, Miss Haven ( who had offered in letter to me: yo reports about The Kgten Convocation in Buffalo) - She was “ delightful”! - And then we had very Charming reports given by Mr Fritz Koch, a Kindergartner and an Artist! - I have his promise, that he will give us an “Educ: Talk” about Drawing in the Kgten later- on. And then Dr. Merrill was really “ interesting”- in what she said.

The day was fine,- end the attendance was “ good”.- I also had invited Mrs. Fitts, Miss [Pumngan], Miss O'Grady, Miss Nora Smith, Miss Elliman & others. they even did not answer. the only one who wrote a polite excuse, was Miss Waterman! - I saw Miss Harvey last Sunday, - & she told me “ how beautifully Grace did in Mrs [Roethgen’s] Class”. - hair is verified- what Mr Kraus said. the home influence and the home Kg: education “ did for her”. “ bless the darling”. If she is happy- she surely is in the “ right place”. the years do not make it! - I am yet “struggling” against difficulties- called : Plasters,

Printers, Plumbers, Electrician, & c. and consequently a “continuous house-cleaning is going on. My “class” is my pleasure. I think I have made a “good choice” among the many who many applications. And- the Board of Education, - & Mr Skinner can’t say anything anymore- with any Extension Course,- which comprises a “second” year’s training. It now lies in the hands of the girls! Although- my opinion still verifies itself in the success of most girls in thor one year’s training. WIth my “standard” I certainly have “fine quality” in my students.- I have commenced “car-rides” - and thus am getting an amount of fresh air- [meder] gotten

Gotten- when at Hotel San Remo! - Dear old “San Remo”. Many things I am “ missing”,- but many things- I am pleased with here- if only we were “ rid” of the unknown.-
And now- my “ pen- visit” must come to an end.- It seems- there is a Concert at the Tuxedo, -& the windows are open,- & I derive the benefits of the music- which is not all- to- beautiful! - God bless you, dear “Carrie Cait”.-
with loving greetings and affectionate “ thoughts”-
