My dear Mrs Meleney,
All those very tired after yesterday's exertion, I cannot abstain from writing to you- to, your” good wishes” and the lovely “ why- flower” book given to me by yourself and your husband. you have done “ too much” thank you- both-

Ever so much. I was delighted to see Mr Meleney; it was “good” to see him.- but I was sorry, that you were not present at the “ opening” of, to hear the charming “ address” give by Rev. Dr. Sill, - our “Chaplain” now. We had a “godly” assemblage- in spite of the ridiculous

Rumor: “That we had cases of smallpox at our hotel”.- I wrote to the” Board of Health” and received a letter from Dr. [Blamelh] himself - ( the “ head” of that department) saying “ that no cases have been nor ever were at our hotel,- & no report or record of any such case was assistant”. I- too- had a lovely photograph of “ Saint Michaels” from Charleston.- And

Now let me wish you & yours “ Heaven's blessings” for the new century, my dear mrs. Meleney. Mets “ happiness” feel your heart & you're home, is my prayer and sincere wish.-
I thank “Gracie” for the “ sweet” remembering. with sincere regards for mr. Meleny, I love for Gracie & yourself, I am- as ever- your affectionate “ Kindergarten Mother”
