My dear Mrs Meleney,-
Here I am- among trunks & box & packed- all “ ready to move”, - and yet - unable to move. The apartment is not ready. the Workman are yet busy! It appears, - they ought to have commenced two months ago,- or rather “ sooner”. And now they have to hurry- which is not a wise thing in such a case. Of course- my “ lease” here is up before October the first; but- I part at the Hoffman Arms for the month of September, - in order to be settled- & read for my Winter’s work. - This all is very awkward for me ; but- no - one can swim against the stream. - over

Your letter was “ good to read”. You & Mr Meleney are “ wise parents”. you well “ read” the fruit of your dealings and judicious treatment with your children. My heart just “ goes out” to you - at present- - more than “ ever before”. May be, that the remembrance at long ago- draws me to you. God be with you, darest!- I never hear from Charleston now.- in the September Member of the Kg: Magazine I red, that the choice of President- Kgten Dpt N.E.A has been a “ good one” Miss O’Grady, Teacher’s College. And further,- that Dr Hall presided at the United child- close & Kgten Meeting- the first,- and that there was an “ animated decision”.

Miss Holmes gave a “good” address. It appears, that I made after all no mistake and having her for “President” this year; it brought about- what I had aimed- at- a connection with the South, arousing and interest for the earnest work being done there. - And further- she had also a “Parents-day”- out growth of what I commenced in Charleston.- I am happy about it. - Dear Mrs Meleney, - I do not expect any answer from you. Only one thing I would long to know, namely: when do you expect the “Advent” to take place? I want to be the are you these days- with loving- & prayer. - “My love” to the Meleney family! Affectionately Your always
Maria Kraus- Boelte.
