Dearest Mrs Meleney,
Let me thank you for your loving good letter, & for sending your “Lawyer- son” Clarence, with the beautiful flowers. What a “dear” boy he is ! all of your boys are “dear”,- and your daughter also!- I was glad to hear such good accounts

Of all the members of your family, - Mr Meleney included. And you too, dear friend; - although seeing you but rarely- we are near you in our thoughts and with our loving good wishes.- I appreciate and love all my Kindergarten daughters- yet, some of them stand closer to me, - as for instance- you, dear Carrie. The greatest

The greatest blessing, however, has come to one- in having my beloved adopted daughter Emma; without her- I do not think , I could have “lived- on”- especially these last three years. - Now , having reached 80 years- I feel younger than for many years, and am “full of energy”.- The good news about Robert & his family- We were glad to hear. You are a blessed Mother “in your children and family relations.- This has grown

To be quite a letter, - & I wanted to write only a few lines. Thus one is carried away- “talking to a friend.- We are well; and we are “out” in the air- whenever ther weather permits.-
