My dear Mrs Meleney,
Dearest Carrie Cait,
I had a letter from Anna Harvey, saying that you & yours were at the Vineyard. And we were glad to know, that you had escaped the great of the City.- I thank you for your letter from Mt. Holyoke. All you said, bespeaks the loving care & fore-thought for the many members of your beloved family. We trust, that you had “good news” from Robert

At the Border of Mexico & from his family. Soon - we hope - they will be re-united.- You are a happy woman, dear Carrie, - & the blessings of the children & your husband “record” themselves in you. - I was so glad to see you dear happy face at the Meeting and Reception on the Campus, when Mrs Hill was so kind & thoughtful in behalf of all,- and to both, Emma & myself. Tired; & even accepted an invitation to both of us - given by Miss Orr, on the evening of Friday, June 7th , which ended with a lovely ride with Miss Orr, in her Automobile, in Central Park.- We send our love & greeting, and good wishes for an enjoyable happy Summer. - Always yours- with the warm “old love”
