My dear Mrs Meleney,
Your letters always give me joy! - I am truly sorry to hear from you- how persistently and seriously you have been troubled with bronchitis. It proves, that you have to be very careful.- I too, have been suffering sincerely; but - I am glad to say- that I am “about & doing”. For several day- I was unable to utter a word. However-

I was able to tell a short Christmas story to a delightful crowd of little children.- Dear Mrs Meleney- we had a charming Christmas festival last Saturday. I know, you would have enjoyed it as much as I did ! A great charm- to me - was, that a number of our former graduates - now married - had brought their children ! Oh !the happiness shining from their faces.-
Of course, we shall be delighted to have you call some afternoon, as you say, - and also to meet Ms. Tappen .- The best of [illegible] ideas- as I read

About them,- or as our friend who hear her, & even attended her classes in Rome- are derived from Froebel. Her saying: if giving the children time “to think”, - has been compromised in Mr Kraus saying : “Make haste slowly”. Surely- Froebel- following Nature- allowed dur time for development & growth in all things! - It does me always good- when you say : “that you love to think of the days when I was in the midst of my children. Dear Carrie - I am trule blessed in my “Kgten-Daughters “love”.- When you are well again

We shall hope to see you in our new home.- We often think of you- & your large and happy family circle; Christmas joys will truly surround you and Mr. Meleney.- Our “good wishes” go out to all of you.-
Emma joins me - in sending love.
Affectionately
Your adopted “Kindergarten Mother”
