My dearest Mrs Meleney,
I was & am destined - to hear “that you are ill in bed”,- or were- on the eve of December 2nd.- I understood, that you had regained “perfect health”. How did this happen? I trust & pray - it may not be any serious indisposition! It was a good

Disappointment not to see you here & have you “in line” with Mrs Hughes & the other beloved “daughters”- in the spirit of Froebel! I am truly grieved, - & am looking anxiously forward to hearing from a member of your family how you are?- The Reception was a grand success. The Committee had done “wonders”. The pleasure great- to see so many of our

Graduates and friends. It seems, as if my heart within me-wa actually “enlarging”; & it burst upon me- all of a sudden- what “happiness” my whole life had held! God bless them all - the earnest, loveable, fine women- young and old! The “devotion” personified in them- for the Course of Childhood- within Friebel’s beautiful “nature-laws”. And I feel so truly grateful- that I have been permitted to be be the “month- piece” of Froebel’s thought, - of his philosophy & practical “working- out” of his ideas!-

Friday evening, December 10th.- It was impossible for me- to send this letter earlier. Dear friends- came & went- & kept me quite busy. - Anna Harvey was “delightful”. So were “others”. All that was said- I placed it in the “Altar of Froebel” - to when it was all “due” ,- as also Mr Kraus, to Fran Froebel, Dr Wichard Lange, From Rouge- to my little Kgten children, the Mothers, - & my adult Tr: class pupils; I learned from all, and only thus I developed & grew. I am thankful- to feel so vigorous & young; am so happy “to be at work- as usual.- I was glad to shake hands with dear Mr Meleney. Many of my- now grown-up- Kg: children were present.- My dear love I send to you & pray, that you may soon be well again.- Affectionately Yours-
