My dearest Mrs Meleney,
Such glorious accounts have reached me- about the delightful & helpful lecture you have given to our alumni association. I suppose- you could not let me have a copy of the list of picture books & other books- given to the Ass’n? I deeply regret, that I could not have been present, but - I did not know
[page 2]
How to manage- as the tickets were in my possession for weeks already!- I think, the pre-arranged & announced, that we know beforehand.- Almost all of my students were present. They are a very interesting “ set” a girls. The three girls- who were “ voted in” for members, received today their Diploma. They are- all three very intelligent & lovely girls,- & have taken hold of Froebel’s Methods - prove & true- in a delightful & encouraging way.
[page 3]
When the weather turns to be fairer, I hope- that we may arrange to see each other.- I am well- & as active as ever,- Nay even more active. My work is my joy! and- the freedom that has been mine- all my life long- has made me so strong in it,- I believe. Many things I do, or “ hold on to” make clash with the “ school regime” but never with Froebel.
[page 4]
Your boys- in College & School- as also your sweet daughter- are a source of joy & happiness to you & Mr Meleney ! You (both of you)- have tell me about them, is of great interests to me, - & always will be. - Adieu- for to day! With dearest love- & good wishes for the happiness & well - being of the Meleney - family- Yours
Maria Kraus Boelte.
