My dear Mrs Meleney!

To make quite sure of it – a write to say – that I will expect you on Friday, April 6 at one PM to take luncheon with me; & then we will have a good talk with each other. And in the afternoon – after our meal & talk – we will rest a while so as to be fresh for our meeting. Will this suit you?
I was very tired after a meeting last Saturday – & suffered somewhat in consequence on Sunday. Today I had to be alert from my class from 10 AM till 5 PM and now I am just good for nothing. Thanks for your letter and what Mr. Meleney said in regards to those of my girls who aspired to positions in vacation – Kindergartens & Play-grounds. I found today that two of my girls – Miss Lyon & Miss Webster – had called already on Mr. Meleney- last week. Miss Phillips is another most worthy girl - & also Miss Henderson. I have a splendid set of girls this year again. About Charleston – I am so sorry dear friend. I will enclose one of the circulars Mr. Shepherd sent to me. It is a regulation that like lectures can only be made – – or rather “read” in person. You would not confide your children and your institute work – – – for the time being – – – – to our dear efficient Anna Harvey? She spoke to me about it. Of course I do not want to talk you into anything you might regret afterwards– - The more so as Mr. Melaney will be compelled to remain in New York. I can understand all that well enough! As also your natural anxiety about your children – in particular your dear little flower Grace. We will talk about this on Friday!
Goodbye for to day!
With affectionate love yours
