My dearest Mrs Meleney,
I am so thankful to know, that the operation you underwent- has been a successful- one one. Now be doubly strong- & go mainly well. And I trust we may soon see your precious self. I did not know if this- until your letter arrived. You have such fine causes of being happy- & my heart always ached for you- that a shadow should have
[page 2]
Rest ( so to speak) on your precious, blood life. You have been a brave woman! God bless you- dear dear Carrie Cait.- We had a happy morning of the opening of our meetings- last Saturday. Harriet Littig- the new president- had arranged everything well. Perhaps? you may be with us at our October meeting! Mr Ossian Lang is going to give us an Address.- Our visit to “The Land of the Sky” has done is- oh- so much good. I feel, as if I could do “ double work”. The touch with “Nature” is so grand. And the - to have “my Emma” with me for a companion
[page 3]
Instead of - as in former years- to be “alone”! Emma is “dear”; & I love her ever more. She is devoted to me. The Class-work has commenced - with a lovely “cultured” set of young women; and I we are kept very busy.- My sincerest sympathy I send to Mr Meleney & to you & the children in behalf of “Grandma Meleny”.- In spirit of “science”- changes will take place. It is “Nature's Course”. - In June 1909- it will be fifty years- since I graduated as Kgtner!
How the time seems to fly! I feel- as if I had been but “ recently”- in spite of the many years that have gone by.

My thoughts are often with you & yours. Last year- I had to keep away from my friends- & save all my strength. For my loved “ life work”; & I was rewarded- and having done a good years work with an almost “ ideal” class.- God be with you ever more, my dearly beloved kindergarten daughter.- We hope- to have you for one of our meetings.
Affectionately yours
Maria Kraus - Boelte
My “ love” to your boys- if they remember me yet.- My Emma asked me- to send her loving and good wishes to you.-
