Ere my “taxing” work of moving, from my present quarters to one of the “upper” Apartments, begins, I will send a few lines to you;for- these lovely “Fall days” turn my thoughts “over & again” to you & yours’, - and how (lovely

It must be now at the Island. I do not know-shall I send this letter yet to the Vineyard? Or - to Brooklyn, - where the “duty of school days” begins to call your children, your husband, & yourself- as the “counter-point” of the family.- I suppose, we shall see each other at our first

Ex. Com: Meeting some time in October; & that is why I send “greetings” to -day; for all of us shall be very busy from now till about the middle of October, and shall resume “seeing each other” towards the end of that month.-
I commence seeing “callers” for the “[illegible] Class”, on Saturday, Sept:17.- reserving my Afternoons for exercise & my evening for

Preparations “to move”
-Of course, I have as yet not seen many of my friends; they have been- one & all- very considerate in letting me have a little time all to myself. Even Miss Kohler,Miss Peek & Anna Harvey, I have not seen. To-day, however, I will write to the them.- The summer has been doing “wonders” for me,- & I am so thankful for it!- Pray, give my loving Greetings to all of your family & believe my always to be
