My dear Mrs Meleney,
-I am so sorry for Mrs Wheelock, & trust & hope, all will be well with her father.-
I write to let you know, that our reception on Monday will be post-poned, - as Mrs Blow also is pre-vented to come (her

Her brother has died. This, of course, makes an end to our reception, - & we have sent notices to the different papers, To day, on my return from [Atlantic] City, I found all these sad news, - * I sent for Anna Harvey & Edith Slade,- & we [consoled] -& decided upon this [aefeir]. Please, give my “regrets’ to Mr Meleney,
