My dear Mrs. Meleney,
I cannot allow the day to end without writing to you, and to say :"that your lecture was a crown and a jewel. It ought to have been given earlier in the morning, so that all might have heard it, and felt with the influence of your words and spirit on their minds and hearts. And I am so delighted, that it will be printed,

- and though the charm of your sweet personality - embodied Motherhood- will be working on the printed words-yet- your spirit will have over it. Blessed, indeed, are you, your children and your husband.-I suffered a good deal last night with my throat,- & though able - by applications of a specialist-to read my Paper-the trouble has returned to night in a slightly severer stage. I [intend] going to-morrow to the Kgten D'pt, and this afternoon to the "specialist" Doctor, -and about the [middle]

middle of the next week I may be able to leave the City for a while.
