My dear Governor Woodruff.
I have taken the liberty of sending to you one of the "Year Books," issued by the Womens Auxiliary of the Hospital of the Good Shephard and would like to call your attention, to the work of the "Free bed," supported by this Auxiliary - This work is very near my heart, relieving as it does. The suffering of those unable to pay, for necessary care and treatment - It is in constant use and supported by contributions, at present. We desire however that this bill should be endowed by the payment of five thousand dollars of which sum a portion is already raised.
Some of my friends have become Life Members of the Auxiliary, by the payment of one hundred dollars anhese sums all go towards the Endowment fund -
If I may enlist your interest in this cherished plan, it will give me great pleasure.
