My Dear Governor
If I was not disabled I should be with you daily as Whitman proposition. He has 15000 more votes in him than anybody we can name no matter who the other side puts up -
Stimson if his name were Ember, or any other good fellow, would be halted by the name - papers as he deserves to be for resigning U. S. Dist. Atty & then taking a money retainer from the government; that & Parsons & Sugar Just matter would make him 15000 votes less [?] than I [?] whose strength has would since his last appearance - too able he is to be safe
I have been laid up few days with rather serious ailments & this is an effort which costs much. I hope to be out in a week -
