Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
My dear Dot:
To my surprise I received your letter this morning. and also one from Mr. Gaines. written last Thursday and sent to the "Century Club" Syracuse. where I never go. and forwarded to me here. I thought I wrote you and him both positively, you that I would see you this morning, and him. that I would see him this afternoon. I have finally succeeded in connecting with him by telephone. and he will be here at half past three.
Mr. Hume is in my office now. When I see Mr. Gaines I will learn what can be done. and write you from Syracuse where I go tomorrow.
Give my love to your Mother. and believe me.
Yours very sincerely.
